xmas decorations?

what date should they really go up and why x x

When you want them to. I wait until later in the month because we have birthdays in mid December. One friend puts her's up after Thanksgiving and another just whenever the mood strikes her.

    It's a social acceptance to do it the day after Thanksgiving.

    At the end of the Thanksgiving Parade, Santa is seen – showing the end of Fall and the beginning of Winter. ie: end of Thanksgiving/harvest season beginning of Christmas!

    _I_ put them up December 1st.

    They come down usually right after Christmas, however religously it should not be until January 16th or so – for the Epiphany. Stores will also have the holiday specials go until Jan 15th or so =)
