If someone suggests you exchange xmas gifts for the first time and you agree on something little is it rude ?

if they send you an ipod when you have sent them a book and a teddy and a mug. I think they broke the deal. Can an ipod really be construed as something little? It makes me feel bad. should it?
Its just my friend did that this xmas.
My sister says I always give too much in my presents and it makes her feel bad and now i think i understand what she means.

Remember to set a spending limit next time.

This person only meant well. Don’t take it offensive.
You were in their shows once (with your sister) and do realize that your intentions were pure. Having been in a same situation, don’t pass a judgment and think that this person did this with good intentions.

Also, it could have been a re-gift which this person did not pay for. Maybe she received more than on iPod as a gift and didn’t know what to do with the other one. Don’t be too sensitive.
